Patience

He caught a mouse... at 2am. And he brought it home to show us. But we were asleep, so he took it into the dining room... he likes to play with his food... We heard him romping around, so we knew he'd caught something....
Then he came to bed and slept the sleep of the innocent.
In the morning, we looked for a body - or part of a body.
No sign.
Uh Oh...

It seems, the last time he saw it ... it was underneath the refrigerator.
So he waits, poised.... patient.

It's a good thing we love him.

Well done! Excellent hunting skills! There've been a couple of moles in my little back space and Nicki's chased them, toyed with them till I've realized what was happening and rescued them. Also an eastern milk snake last year that I had to rescue (you should have heard me scream "SNAKE!" and dither around till I figured out how to pick it up and put it to safety).

I don't mind if cats eat what they catch--that's what they're supposed to do and there's nothing like raw meat for good health and a shiny coat. But it's the toying with (torture of) the mice and moles (or birds) that bugs me.

Cute kitty young one. Our girl Siberian, Kiwi, used to bring her prizes indoor as well. She was nice enough to bring a squirrel, sans head, inside and right under my bed.
